SUMMARY:Spicer's Cove Paul Gaudet
DESCRIPTION:Greetings outdoor enthusiasts. With regard to Saturday’s hike at Spicer’s Cove. I contacted Anne from the kayak tour company that does tours from the cove\, and she tells me that the road in is quite alright right to the bailey bridge and that the road from Joggins has one or two sections with potholes\, she did it recently and says it is most doable for the most part\, with a few places where care is required. \n  \nThe meet time will be at the Irving in Dieppe at 9:00 (I will not be at that one) then Amherst Mall at 9:45/9:55. The hike will be rated as strenuous for most\, moderate for others\, with some old dirt road walking to start (tides)\, then forest trail\, then beach\, then manicured trail with spectacular outlooks\, then beach walking back to the cove and our conveyances. The tide will not be on our side on this day\, so we “may” encounter a pinch point or two on our way out on the beach. Bring lunch\, boots\, and gaiters if you got em. Current forecast for area is sunny with cloudy periods all day and temps of 7degrees. \n  \nBetter call Paul @ 506-381-0397

SUMMARY:Fundy Footpath from Walton Glenn Gorge to Eye of the Needle
DESCRIPTION:Please note this hike requires the purchase of a day pass to the Fundy Parkway Provincial Park (FPPP)\, unless you currently have a season’s pass.  Alternatively\, you may pickup a complimentary pass\, at least 3 days prior\, at any Public Library. \nThis is a challenging\, rewarding 11km hike\, rated as Strenuous\, which takes you from parking lot P15\, near the East Gate of FPPP\, down the link trail to the world famous\, Fundy Footpath\, on the Fundy Coast.  Descending to the Little Salmon River through beautiful views and vistas and begin crossings of the waterway making your way to the “Eye of the Needle”\, considered by many to be in the bowels of NB’s Grand Canyon.  Water crossing at the Eye of the Needle\, possibly waist deep. \nWalking/hiking poles are strongly recommended\, as are hard-soled water shoes or old sneakers.   The water component of this hike is no less than 2km and will be uncomfortable without proper footwear. \nA lunch and photo opportunity will be after passing through the eye and before ascending out of the gorge. \nMeet at Centennial Park – Dog Park\, 61 Rotary Lodge Ln\, Moncton\, NB  at 9:00AM\, or Wolfe Lake Pavilion\, Fundy National Park\,  9577 NB-114\, Chambers Settlement\, NB at 10:00AM\, or Fundy Trail Provincial Park – East Entrance at 10:40AM.   Please contact Gale Connor-Breau via the contact us form. \nContact \n \n  \n
