DESCRIPTION:Hi Everyone! \nWow\, its that time again! What a great winter! thanks to all those that have been attending. The numbers have been great\, the photographs spectacular\, and the company amazing! \nAs we move into the spring and summer\, its time to plan for June\, July and August. The planning meeting will be held at the time and address noted above. I hope all the leaders can attend so we can have a full slate of hikes for the upcoming summer. If you are unable to attend\, but have some hikes you would like to do please reach out to me on Facebook Messenger\, or text me at 506-875-3351. \nThe success of our activities rely on our leaders\, please do not hesitate to become one. You can reach out to me anytime\, and I can show you how it works\, and what you need to know. It  is a lot of fun\, especially if you have a hike you would like to share with the group. The hikes on Saturdays tend to be in the 12-15K range\, with some travel\, and the Sunday’s slightly shorter and closer to home. We do adjust depending on the conditions\, and are always open to new suggestions\, distances\, and locations\, longer or shorter! \nWe have some cycling and paddling events coming up as well\, and the group trip for Mt Carleton is well underway. \nDobson in a Day as well on June 21st\, details will be posted\, and are on Facebook as well. \nI am Looking forward to the summer’s activities. SUMMARY:Laverty/Moosehorn Loop  Kelly Chase
DESCRIPTION:Lavery/Moosehorn Loop – Approx 7.3 km – Moderate/Strenuous. \nExpect wet spots\, some stream crossings\, and rooty and rocky terrain as well as the need to navigate a large eroded boulder area along the trail. \nDepart from Fox Field at 9am or meet at Fundy National Park Headquarters at 10:15. We will then drive to the trailhead located at the parking area at the end of Laverty Road. \nThe hike will begin at the Laverty Falls trailhead\, and will descend gradually but steadily for 2.5 km until we reach the falls. We will then continue along the path until it meets the Moosehorn trail. The trail alternates between stretches of grassy areas\, alder lined riverbanks and gravely  stream sides. We will eventually pass cold water pools and swimming holes along the way until we reach a scenic and eroded boulder area where we will stop for lunch before we resume our hike. \n  \nAfter our lunch break\, initially there is a very steep climb up the Moosehorn trail\, which becomes more of a gradual upward grade for the final 2 km back to the parking area. \n  \nFor questions\, please reach out to Kelly at 506-651-1673. \n  \n

There is a locked gate leading to the boat launch. \nIf you are going to be late\, or early\, the combination to the boat launch is available by e-mailing the City on Moncton through their website. \nThe paddle will be 1.5 to 2 hours. The format will be the same as bike night\, just bring a kayak instead of a bike\, and a lifejacket instead of a helmet.
