DESCRIPTION:Hike for this Sunday the 4th of September. Hike in Irishtown park with a visit to the gorgeous Magnetic Hill winery after. Hike about 6 kms. then off to the winery. If you have not been to the winery it is absolutely gorgeous (3 tiered patio) and the wine is delicious. They have charcuterie boards for sale and the views are really impressive.. This winery is where one of our members (Brian Coyle) has constructed many of the fine wooden structures that adorn this property. SUMMARY:Hearst Lodge Trail on the Fundy Parkway
DESCRIPTION:The hike on Saturday the 27th August is to the Hearst Lodge on the Fundy Trail parkway. No need to move cars\, it is a loop. The hike is along the beautiful river in the cool shaded forest for about 3 kms. to a lodge once owned by Sir William Randolph Hearst (yes that William Randolph Hearst). The distance is not great about 7 Kms return\, but it is not easy and there is one long steep hill. We will lunch by the river in front of the lodge. We may see salmon in the pool in front of the lodge. Rated moderate to strenuous. We can visit the amazing new two lane covered bridge after the hike. Meet time is 9:00 at The Centennial Outdoor Center on St. George Blvd. or at the Fundy Park headquarters at 10:15 where we will proceed together to the East Gate of the Parkway where if we have at least 12 I have arranged for a discounted admission fee. \nCall Paul at 506-588-3034.
