We will be hiking behind the catholic church (the one with the flying buttresses) in St. Joseph. SUMMARY:Cocagne Island Exploration
DESCRIPTION:Because the Geocaching NB group organize an annual trek to the Cocagne Island\, and carefully monitor the integrity of the ice leading up to it\, we are able to offer a unique snowshoeing experience. Gale Connor Breau has kindly agreed to lead hikers on   an 8ish km snowshoe and crampon trek to view the migrating blue heron nests and the beautiful landscape on the north east side of the island where we will break for lunch. This will not involve geocaching but we are grateful to that community for sharing their event day with any interested parties.\nMoncton area carpool meetup at Centennial Park lot near dog park at 8:15 am. Please come prepared with both crampons AND snowshoes\, crampons will likely be best for crossing over to the island on the ice\, but have your snowshoes attached to your packs as they will be needed to explore the island.
