Upcoming Weekend MOE Scheduled hikes May 04-05.

Saturday May 04th : Cape Chignecto Provincal Park – McGahey Canyon Loop
Join us at the Cape Chignecto Provincial Park to do the McGahey Canyon Loop. Like all the trails in this beautiful park this is a nice one. About 8kms of a combination of wooded, babbling brook bliss with a scenic beach walk to end the hike. The prospect of dining at one of the great restaurants in N.S. called the Wild Caraway might be on the agenda. It is an old homestead house across from the wharf, they use many of their own herbs and spices and try to locally source all of their food.
Great hike, not to be missed. Rated as moderate with one long upward climb. Meet at Irving, 64 Champlain Blvd, in Dieppe, at 9:00AM or Amherst Mall (behind FYiDoctors) at 9:45AM – Call Paul 506-381-0397 or Kevin 506-871-4457.

Sunday : May 05th Social Walk for Mental Health – Shediac to Parlee Beach, Pointe-du-Chene Wharf and return
Join Calvin on this walk from Shediac to Parlee Beach, the Pointe-du-Chene wharf and back. You will be able to sink your toes in the sand, enjoy the sounds of the surf, have lunch on a deck overlooking the beach, see the activity on a functioning wharf and marina and then scoot back on the trail to your vehicles. 10km. Rated easy to moderate (due to length), 98% flat. Meet at Irving in Dieppe at 10:00AM or the parking lot for Canada Public Works, 10 Weldon St, Shediac, NB at 10:30AM. Contact Calvin at 506-875-3351.

Prior to the walk, Calvin will share his personal story of losing a close friend who passed away after struggling with mental illness.  This is not a fundraiser, simply a walk to raise awareness of mental health issues affecting our lives.  Encourage your friends to join you on this outing.
