A total of 26 members voted to indicate they would attend the event at one or both of the locations. The result is 19 votes for Gaspecie vs 18 votes for Gros Morne.
I have discussed with Julian and the Summer Camping Trip will be to Gaspecie National Park from Saturday, July 8th to Sunday, 16th, 2023. This will be 7 hiking days with the 8th and 16th being travel days.
I checked with Gaspecie website recently and discovered that the 2023 site fees have increased considerably resulting in an increase of approximately $150 per site for the 8 nights compared to the low end number indicated in October. The total trip cost is still significantly lower than Gros Morne.
This vote was only to determine the location of the event based on the number committed to attend. The event is open to any member of the club who wishes to attend.
People who plan to attend the event at Gaspecie should consider reserving their sites soon as there are a number of sites already booked. The intended camping location is in Mt-Albert Campground. I will provide more detailed information in January.
