Upcoming Hikes and Holiday Party

Saturday, December 9 2023 – Hike Third Vault Falls in Fundy National Park. Please Note: Grippers will be required/Poles encouraged. 9 km difficult. Lunch  at the falls. Weather is forecast as Sunny, 3C with a breeze. Meet at Fox Field(Baseball field) at 893 Hillsborough Road, Riverview for 9h or Park Headquarters at 10h. Sunday, December 10 2023 – Moncton Outdoor Enthusiasts – Annual Christmas/Holiday Party. Clubhouse – 80 Mount Pleasant Rd. Moncton (4-7:00PM)

MOE Green Gift Exchange
– bring an unwrapped item, something you no longer use, but would be useful to someone else – could be a plant, cookware, tools, decorative items, Christmas items and if all else fails beer or wine!

Label gift with your full name – labels will be placed in the draw
– 3 draws of steal a gift or get a free membership is back!

Hiking Essentials and Preparation

The weather is changing from Fall to Winter, to Fall, to Spring, and soon will end up as WINTER. Please have your ice grippers packed and ready to go. Trekking poles are a complimentary accessory for hiking safety in the winter. Remember to wear layers to keep you warm, dry, and protected from the cold and wind chill.

Last minute changes to hiking schedules.

We will strive to provide timely updates and changes to planned weekend events by sending e-mails on Thursday evening if hikes are moved or cancelled. Last minute posts are sometimes available and we will also post in the Facebook group.

Upcoming events.

December 14 2023 – Thursday Night City Social Walks – Time: 6:30PM. Distance: 5-10 Km. Meeting place, La Bikery,120 Assomption Blvd. Anyone requiring details, please contact Julian at 506-830-6463

December 16 2023 – Hike in the Beaumont area. Strenuous, 12 km. Meet at the Irving Station, 64 Champlain St, Dieppe at 10:00AM or Beaumont Church at 10:30AM. Anyone requiring details, please contact Ted at 506-852-0976.

December 17 2023 – Fox Field through Mill Creek to Gunningsville Blvd Leaving from…well.. Fox Field parking lot. Walk on connector trail to Mill Creek park to Gunningsville Blvd and return.  Easy 10km.    Meet at, yup, you guessed…Fox Field Parking Lot – 893 Hillsborough Rd, Riverview, NB at 10:00AM.  This is an excellent outing for new hikers and those not into difficult hills.
