Thursday night social walk.
Meet at 6:30pm at YMCA Twin Oaks.
We’ll do the Northwest Trail and some street walking 6.5km 1.5H.
Grippers might be useful. Headlamps required !

Saturday : Feb 24th : Midland Ice Caves and Sussex Bluffs
Midland Ice Caves and Sussex Bluffs
Two Hikes … Choose ONE… or Chose BOTH…

  1. MIDLAND ICE CAVES.  Hike to the fascinating Midland Ice Caves near Norton, NB.   Moderate hike – approximately 5km – 2 hours.   Ice Grippers/Crampons/Cleats are a MUST.      9:00AM… Meet at Centennial Park – Dog Park lot – 61 Rotary Lodge Ln, Moncton, NB.  Second meeting location – Norton One Stop – 19 Route 124, Norton, NB (Exit 175)
  2. SUSSEX BLUFFS.
    Easy hike – approximately 5km – 2 hours. Hike to the first two bluffs…. A spectacular view over the rolling hills of Dutch Valley.  Ice Grippers/Crampons/Cleats are a recommended.
  3. For participants only doing Sussex Bluffs, meet time is 12:00NOON – at Centennial Park – Dog Park lot – 61 Rotary Lodge Ln, Moncton, NB for ride sharing or at 1:00PM at Parking Lot at end of Sullivan Drive, Sussex.

Sunday : Feb 25th : Sentier Pluriel
Hike on the Sentiers Pluriel in Grande-Digue for 2-3 hours. 
After our hike, all are cordially invited chez Bob and Maureen for a baked beans and brown bread supper. 
The trail has some icy areas so ice grippers are strongly recommended. Meet at 12:30PM at the Irving at 64 Champlain St., Dieppe or at 1:00PM at 43 Grande-Digue Road, Grande-Digue. Please carpool as the lot is not large. Maureen will meet the group in Grande-Digue. 
There will be a one day post full moon moonrise at 7:13 pm that evening. Anyone who wants to stay later to enjoy a beautiful moonrise over the water is welcome to stay on for that.

The hike event planned for Hopewell Rocks on Sunday February 18th is CANCELLED.

In it’s place, we are adding the following hike.

Bouctouche Dunes – A Sunday Stroll

Hike the Bouctouche Dunes from the Irving Eco-Centre half-way to the Lighthouse and return.  Moderate 11km, ~3 hrs including breaks.   Bring Grippers/Crampons/Cleats.  Bring an afternoon snack.  Meet at the Irving Station, 64 Champlain St, Dieppe at 12:30PM or Eco-Centre parking lot at 1:15PM. Note: No dogs are allowed on the dunes.  Wind will be chilly from the West. Dress in warm layers. For additional details, please contact Kevin Dunphy at (506) 871-4457.

Feb 17th Saturday : Parlee Brook Amphitheatre and Friar’s Nose
Hike to the Parlee Brook Falls (location of Ice Wall) and Friar’s Nose, off the Parlee Brook Rd. near Poley Mt.
Strenuous, 8 km.
Bring snowshoes and ice grippers.  
Meet at Centennial Park by Dog Park at 10:00am or Parlee Brook Rd at 11:00am. Contact Kevin at  506-871-4457.

Feb 18th Sunday : Hopewell Rocks Snowshoe
Snowshoe along the trail & beach to the spectacular Flower Pots at Hopewell Rocks. Easy.
Meet at Foxfield (Baseball field) at 893 Hillsborough Road, Riverview, NB. at 1:00 pm or Hopewell Rocks at 1:45PM.

#2Sackville – Waterfowl Park and Urban Walk
Join Paul and local historians as we trek the circumference of the Sackville Waterfowl Park including a tangent tangle with urban Sackville to sample the majestic architecture of old and new.   
Possible siting of Gina’s old place. 
Extra special siting opportunity of our lifer – Merlin. 
Should be a easy/moderate pace with a length of 10km.
Bring your grippers/crampons. 
Meet at Irving, 64 Champlain Blvd, Dieppe at 10:00AM or Sackville MacDonalds’s parking lot, 222 Main St, Sackville, at 10:30AM.
