The Board of Directors is pleased to invite all Outdoor Enthusiasts Inc. members to the 2023/2024 Annual General Meeting.

🗓️ When: Sunday, October 27th, 1:30 – 3:00 PM

📍Where: Centennial Rotary Lodge @ 125 Rotary Lodge Ln, Moncton (Centennial Park)

Why attend?
We’re serving pizza, sweets, fruit, tea & coffee — because meetings are always better with snacks!

Bonus: If the weather’s nice, we might go for a casual walk around Centennial Park –  Patti’s hike – 10:45am to 1:15pm    

But more importantly, this is your chance to have a say in shaping the future of the club. We have 4 open Board of Director positions:

These roles are vital to the club’s success, and we need your support to keep things going strong. If you’ve ever thought about getting more involved, now’s your chance!

Weekend Adventures: Hike & Breakfast Combo!

Bad news first: Saturday’s hike at Fundy Park is canceled due to some seriously unfriendly weather. ☔

Sunday October 13th : we’re hitting Sussex Bluffs for a scenic 8-10 km hike, perfect for all you easy-to-moderate enthusiasts!

Meet at Centennial Park (by the dog park) at 10:00 AM if you’re in Moncton

-or-

At Sullivan Park, Sussex Corner at 11:00 AM if you’re already there!

Calvin’s your go-to guy for this one—give him a shout at 506-875-3351 if you need a pep talk or directions!

Next, on Wednesday, start your day right with a stroll at Mapleton Park. We’ll be heading out between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM, followed by a hearty breakfast at IHOP at 10:00 AM. Pancakes, anyone?

Solange is the boss here, so be sure to let her know if you’re coming for breakfast. Call her at 506-227-8052—seriously, she wants a headcount so no one’s left pancake-less!

Don’t miss out, or you’ll have FOMO and hunger pains!

Saturday, September 28th and Sunday, September 29th

Come cycling with us to explore the vibrant fall colours of the Acadian Peninsula, a cycling paradise with its famous Véloroute. This legendary network boasts over 600 kilometres of meticulously maintained trails. 

Saturday, September 28th – CHECK in at 9:45 am and DEPART at 10:00 am
Route: Inkerman to Bertrand.
Begin and finish at the Inkerman church. (~60 km, mostly on a paved path).

Sunday, September 29th – CHECK in at 10:15 am. DEPART at 10:30 am
Route: Tracadie region, covering Circuit 12 + 12B + 12C (~50 km of paved path).
Leaving from the Deux Rivières Resort.

Accommodations:
Deux Rivières Resort in Tracadie-Sheila (hotel rooms and cabins)

Friday : September 20 – Dobson Cleanup – Levi Road to Smith Road
Join Ted for a Friday morning outing to check and clean up our section of the Dobson Trail – Levi Road to Smith Road.   Meet at the Dobson Trail, 633 Pine Glen Rd, Pine Glen, NB, at 9:00AM or at Levi Road at 9:20AM.  Bring water, lunch, gloves, and good foot wear.  Anyone requiring information, please contact Ted at at (506) 852-0976.

Saturday : Kayaking – Hopewell Rocks
September 21 at 1:45PM.  Kayak at Hopewell Rocks on High Tide.  More details to come.  Limit of 30 persons.  Cost is $65 +tax ($74.75) per person.  Park entry fee of $14,58 (taxes in).  Meet at Fox Field – 893 Hillsborough Road, Riverview, at 12:00PM, for Car Pooling.  Meet at Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park at 12:45PM to receive park pass and make your way to the Baymount Adventures Cabin at the lower parking lot.

Join Paul on a spectacular sunrise hike around Mary’s Point Islands.  See the sun rise through the Grindstone Island lighthouse glass.  Moderate 10 km. Meet at the Fox Field, 893 Hillsborough Road, Riverview at 5:30AM or at Shepody National Wild Life Area (Mary’s Point) at 6:15AM.   Low tide at Mary’s Point will be at 9:56AM.  Fall Equinox starts at 9:43AM.   Bring lunch, water, and your camera.  New hikers or anyone requiring additional details, please contact Paul at (506) 588-3034

August Weekend MOE scheduled Hikes (8/29/2024)

Saturday #1 :Sunrise Walk on the Riverfront
Saturday August 31st ( No rain date)  Sunrise Walk on the Riverview riverfront trail.  See the sunrise this Saturday morning. 
Meet at 5:30AM at Hawthorne Park, 191 Hawthorne Dr, Riverview, NB.   
We’ll walk on the riverfront trail for 15mins or so and watch the dawn and wait for the sun to appear.  
Bring a camp chair if you like.

Saturday #2 :Foster Brook-Marven Lake Loop – Fundy National Park
Hike Foster Brook Trail to connect with Marven Lake and old Goose River trails in Fundy National Park. 
Approximately 10km.  Rated as moderate to strenuous. 
Bring water shoes for a river crossing.  One long, steep hill climb. 
Meet at Fox Field – 893 Hillsborough Road, Riverview at 9:00AM, or at Fundy National Park Administration Centre at 10:00AM.
Hike parking will be at Hueston Brook Parking Lot and hike will start and end here.  New hikers or anyone requiring information, please contact Paul @ 506-381-0397.

Sunday : Hike in Hillsborough on the dikes
Hike in Hillsborough on the dikes 6-7km.
Option to include an extra 2km with a walk around Braybrook Marsh trail. 
Rated as Easy.  
Meet at parking lot off of Steeves St, Hillsborough (behind Canada Post building) at 10:00AM.

Saturday :Goose River Trail in Fundy National Park
Hike the Goose River Trail in Fundy National Park. Rated as Strenuous at a distance of 22km.  Experienced Hikers only.  Bring sufficient water and lunch. Lunch takes place on a beautiful spot on the beach. Meet at Fox Field (Baseball field) at 893 Hillsborough Road at 9:00AM or Fundy National Park Headquarters at 10:00AM. Sunday :Walker Road/Sackville Waterfowl Park
Walker Road hikes in Sackville – approximately 9 km – easy. Meet at Irving, 64 Champlain St. at 9:30 a.m. or Walker Rd. parking lot at 10:00 a.m. May also do Sackville Waterfowl Park (approximately 3 km – easy). Call Patti MacPherson at (709) 746-7892.
